Mariehamn is a very attractive town with wide streets and green spaces with stunning displays of spring flowers everywhere. It is a small youthful town with restaurants and bars to suit every taste within walking distance from the Mariehamn Ferry Port.
The town offers a lot to explore such as the nautical museum in the ship Pommern, built in Glasgow in the 1930 or simply relax by the beach.

It was the first morning of our holiday when we boarded the early morning ferry not sure what to expect. We were very surprised there seemed to be a lot of staff who were really helpful. we stored our luggage in lockers which was a welcome relief. Then went to the buffet lounge where we had pre booked the breakfast what a super place to eat a fantastic view and such a calm and relaxed atmosphere even with nearly all the tables full. The breakfast was really lovely everything you could possibly want. After a few purchases at the duty free shop we went up on deck plenty of room and spent a while looking at the wonderful scenery got a bit breezy so we headed for the deck lounge at the back of the boat which was nice and sheltered and had a very lovely cocktail each all by very happy and helpful staff. Made a fantastic start to our holiday. Thank you all very much

We much enjoyed our trip from Stockholm to Mariehamm, apart from the early start! Surprised to find that the new ship was gas-powered, with two big tanks on the rear deck. As a result there were no dirty fumes from the funnel, and this made the deck more attractive. Lovely scenery all the way. Also surprised to find that many of the passengers got off at Mariehamm, although the ferry went on to Helsinki. They met the boat going the other way, so making a day trip for the scenery and duty free shopping!
