About Travemunde

Set within the region of Lubeck, Travemunde is an old German seaside resort and is still very popular with families. Travemünde offers you everything: The great outdoors, romance, culture and sports. You can take tours on a bicycle or in a horse-drawn carriage, take a stroll on the beach promenade, go shopping on the Vorderreihe or enjoy the beach which is 4.5 kilometers long and wider than any other beach on Germany's Baltic coast.

There is plenty to see and do in Travemunde, from visiting the old sailing ship Passat to the annual sand monument event. Travemunde also boasts many interesting museums, such as the St. Anne's Museum, which is a former convent housing art and home furnishings from the middle ages until 1800; the Museum of Natural History and Environment; and the Puppet Theatre and Museum.

About Trelleborg

In the 10th century, Trelleborg was conquered by the Danish Vikings. Later it was gifted by the Danish Royal family to a Swedish Prince Valdemar as a wedding gift but was later recaptured by the Danish and was held by them until they lost the whole of Skåne County to the Swedish in the 1658 war.

Trelleborg became an important trading town in the medieval period with German traders coming in to trade herring fish which is found abundantly in the waters around Trelleborg and its location on the Southern tip of Sweden made it even more accessible.

Trelleborg boasts of miles of sandy beaches and picturesque locations. Some of the interesting places to visit are the Trelleborg Ring Fortress built by the Danish Vikings around the 10th century, stone megalithic tombs, museums and enticing craft shops, the Trelleborg Museum and Blå Huset, a well-preserved traditional garden.

    • very unclear at the port. no-one at check-ins just said closed (about 1.45mins before sailing)then very poor direction, got lost to start with, could have ended up anywhere. annoying to be kicked out of cabin and hour before being allowed to the car, very difficult with small children and all their gear. overall staff were good

    Self-explanatory
    • This was our first trip with a ferry. It was as easy as can be. Lined up in a queue to board. Once "stacked" just follow the crowd towards the cabin. There is no need for asking questions as it is self-explanatory. Superb!

    The Ferry and the journey were superb.
    • The Ferry and the journey were superb. Only difficulty is finding the correct ferry terminal as there are 2 in Turku. One is well signposted but tghis one is not and needed some advise from a Taxi driver on where to find it. So, improve the direction signs on the roads leading to the terminal and then a great experience.
