Venice is best known for its canals and waterways; which interlink the many small islands of Venice. However, there is more to Venice than water - Venice is home to some of the world's most beautiful and most-recognised buildings and architecture, such as St. Marks Basilica and the Torre dell'Orologio clock tower, which overlook St. Mark's Square.
Venice has also produced, and houses, some important art such as the Venetian paintings and sculptures that crowd the churches of Venice. Much of Venice's artwork can be seen in the many galleries in Venice, such as the enormous Palazzo Grassi and the Museo Correr, and is showcased each year in the Biennale di Venezia international festival.
Venice itself is one large tourist sight, one of the most breathtaking in the world. Visitors will enjoy simply admiring the views, and cruising along the Grand Canal discovering the beauty of this city.

30 Apr 2018very poor
Boat was delayed by 4 hours necessitating expense of a further overnight stay in Italy - compensating of 20 percent discount on next journey with Minoan useless for anyone not travelling with them again. Ferryport remote and difficult to find. Open deck puddled with dog urine (why are dogs allowed on board?). Forward lift scarily not working (shaking and going nowhere, not much note of it when reported to purser). Few other staff on hand to help. Salon seat covers dirty and torn.

15 Oct 2014Ferry from Venice to Greece
A very pleasant experience on a route where there is little choice. Cabin on board was very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless and worked well. Food was adequate and other facilities were very pleasant. The boat sailed and arrived exactly on time.

13 Jul 2014Small boat but OK
Have used Anek lines route to Corfu & Igoumenitsa before. Not as convenient now as route does not call at our destination of Corfu any more. The new port at Fusina in Venice was friendly & efficient. The boat was quite small not a lot to do but sit in the bar. TVs were all in Greek. The food was very average - best thing on the menu was beef burgers and the salad. The stewardesses in the bar one was very quick and efficient , the other was slow & didn't notice if you wanted serving. Cabins are small but OK.

08 Sep 2013Never Travel On This Vessel
Never get on this ship. Much later I discovered it was a last minute replacement. It was built in the 1970's and due for retirement in 1980's. Disgusting, unhygienic, filthy, and worn-out. Covered in oil and diesel. Failing toilets and sinks. And still very expensive cabins -none available. Airline seats filthy. Floor was better! Kids sleeping on deck in oil and dirt with dogs and drunk people wandering about. I was amazed at how appalling it was. And no apology from staff when questioned.
