Venice, in Northern Italy, is home to approximately 272,000 inhabitants, and is one of the most famous, and popular, tourist destinations in the world. Venice is made up of 118 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon, which stretches between the Po and Piave rivers.
Venice is best known for its canals and waterways; which interlink the many small islands of Venice. However, there is more to Venice than water - Venice is home to some of the world's most beautiful and most-recognised buildings and architecture, such as St. Marks Basilica and the Torre dell'Orologio clock tower, which overlook St. Mark's Square.
Venice has also produced, and houses, some important art such as the Venetian paintings and sculptures that crowd the churches of Venice. Much of Venice's artwork can be seen in the many galleries in Venice, such as the enormous Palazzo Grassi and the Museo Correr, and is showcased each year in the Biennale di Venezia international festival.
Venice itself is one large tourist sight, one of the most breathtaking in the world. Visitors will enjoy simply admiring the views, and cruising along the Grand Canal discovering the beauty of this city.
Porec is home to a 6th Century basilica. The city itself is almost 2,000 years old and has been important for many successive empires from the Romans on.

17 Aug 2015Horrendous outward journey
The initial crossing from Venice to Porec should have been cancelled because of rough seas and unbelievable, bone-crushing conditions - I was one of the few passengers who wasn't throwing up almost continuously: crew were as helpful as possible. if you are pregnant, disabled, or with back problems you should avoid this crossing at all costs. The return leg five days later was calm and fine, but it seems that all crossings take at least an hour longer than advertised. The left luggage facility was "closed" both days, so we lugged heavy backpacks around Venice all day. Not a great experience overall - we'll go by bus next time.

25 Aug 2014Poor service
I was able to book the route Venice to Porec online but when we arrived at Venice the ferry was going to Umag rather than Porec. We were told a car would be arranged to take us from Umag to Porec and then the ferry would go to Porec after Umag. We were the only people left on the ferry and arrived over an hour later than scheduled according to the online booking. I'm not happy about the fact I was able to book a non existent route online. The explanation from the ferry company was inadequate and did not match up with explanations from staff on the ground.

04 Jul 2014Not a ferry
Ship was broken and we traveled by minibus. It was awful. There are small seat s and the airconditioner worked only in 2 modes (working or not). Girl from Japan (she sat next to us) lost her documents in the mini bus and she couldn't find them, because the driver did not work for the ferry company. It was a long road and I paid for this hell like I travelled in nice ship.

I have had some problems with the booking confirmation because some issues regarding the Venezia Line. I didn't have any problem with service but honestly I would like to report the outstanding customer service received from the operator Mimma Carella. She has helped us step by step within great communication skills and friendly but professional manner, fixing immediately all the issues faced. All your staff should be like her. Thanks For the service received.
