    Horrendous and horrific queuing
    • Simple fact is that we queued from 1pm til 9pm... 8 hours of queuing. No toilet or refreshment facilities although police did bring a bottle of water around once. A truly horrendous and horrific experience. Not the fault of but passengers should be warned about the completely inadequate and pathetic queuing and boarding arrangements. Never again we will go by ferry to Sicily.

    A pleasure cruise..with our car!
    • I pre-booked, online, the ferry crossing for my family and our rental car. Our scheduled crossing was 1520 but we arrived at the Villa san Giovanni port just after 1410. I handed the ticket agent my confirmation number and he gave me my barcoded ticket. Since we were early, I figured I'd casually drive down the ramp and we'd wait an hour for our booked ferry crossing. A couple of cars zipped past me and I quickly realized they were trying not to miss their 1420 ferry. I ended up in line behind those two cars as a gentleman had to scan their tickets before they could drive onto the ferry boat. He scanned our ticket and waved us onto the boat, an hour earlier than our booking! I drove up the ferry ramp and it literally closed behind our car as I came to a stop. We got out of our car to enjoy the beautiful, simultaneous views of Italy and Sicily. It seems like such a simple thing but I found the whole ferry experience to be quite memorable!
