Wallaroo is a small port town on South Australia's Yorke Peninsula. From here you can take the ferry to Lucky Bay (near Cowell) on the Eyre Peninsula. Historically, Wallaroo was part of the "copper triangle" copper mining industry and today is part of the area referred to as the "Copper Coast" or "Little Cornwall". The area also grew as an exporter of grain from Australia to Europe and you can see Wallaroo's grain silos on the horizon as you approach by ferry. Industry still thrives in the area, but beautiful safe beaches and great fishing are popular with tourists.

04 Apr 2014Back packing around Australia - Would definitely use again
The booking process was really easy, and when we got to the port in Lucky Bay the check-in was just as swift. The journey itself was lovely, with some beautiful views. We had a good crossing and would definitely use again.
